GetPDF Mobile Toolkit: When to Use GetPDF, GetCompress, and GetScan
Published June 18, 2026 - 6 min read
Some people need one PDF app. Others need a set of small tools that match the way documents arrive: paper comes through the camera, large files need compression, and finished PDFs need editing or organization.
The Three-App Split
The main GetPDF app is the general PDF workspace. It is the right place for broad document tasks: merge, split, lock, sign, organize, convert, and manage files. GetCompress and GetScan are focused apps for repeated mobile jobs that should take fewer taps.
- GetPDF: Use it for the full document toolkit and multi-step PDF work.
- GetCompress: Use it on Android when file size is the problem.
- GetScan: Use it on Android when the source document starts on paper.
Example Workflows
For receipts, scan with GetScan, compress if the PDF is too large, then store the final file. For a contract pack, use GetPDF to merge attachments, add page numbers, lock the result, and share one clean PDF. For a large scanned application, compress the PDF before uploading it to a form portal.
Browser Tools Still Matter
The browser tools at GetPDF are useful when you are working on a laptop, desktop, Chromebook, or shared machine. You can open a focused tool directly, including Create PDF, Compress PDF, and Split PDF, without creating an account.
